Inaugural AGM

Red-letter day for IPFBA

Saturday, 12th July, was a historic occasion in that it saw the first ever annual general meeting staged by an ex-professional benevolent association from the League of Ireland.

Thanks to all who attended the AGM in Athlone and for participating in a lively debate. The meeting discussed finances, fundraising and awareness initiatives, and future plans to support the welfare of former players, both male and female.

The following officers were returned to the committee: Harry McCue – Chairman, Martin Lawlor – Secretary, Mick Byrne – Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, Linda Gorman – Assistant Chair.

Re-elected officers and delegates

Our appreciation also to Paddy and Alan McCaul of the Shamrock Lodge Hotel for putting on the event free of charge, with the wonderful weather greatly adding to the social aspect.
