Officers & committee members at the inaugural IPFBA AGM in Athlone, summer 2025

Formed in October 2023 and officially launched the following February, the Irish Professional Footballers Benevolent Association’s mission is to enhance the lives of former players.

Committed to the wellbeing of our members, where possible we will seek to financially support ex-footballers who find themselves faced with health and other challenges.

Fostering a supportive, holistic community, we will also provide guidance and resources to help individual members, male and female, navigate life beyond their playing careers.

Management Team

Our executive team consists of former League of Ireland players and entrepreneurs very experienced in sports management and the professional football environment.

The committee consists of 12 ex-professional players, including representation from the women’s game, and its officers are Harry McCue (Chairman), Linda Gorman (Vice-Chair), Martin Lawlor (Secretary) and Mick Byrne (Treasurer), with Conan Byrne as Membership Secretary.
